Yes very much so. But more realistically if you are in the big soccer countries like Spain, England, or Italy, ect. Americans sadly think of soccer as a joke which pains me to say because its my favorite sport.

Well there are a LOT of amazing high school soccer players out there, and you have to stand out better then a needle in a haystack. Your in high school yes? The chances are pretty slim that out of everyone you will get chosen and make it big. What might help though is if you put up some videos on youtube of you, show us something special and why you are unique. Get your name out there you know?

Hello my name is Alex and im from a town outside of Detroit named Inkster, Michigan. I am a 22 year old black man I will be 23 years old in 3 weeks from now. I live at home with my mom because I am unemployed and even if I could get get a job it would have to pay a decent salary for me to get my own place. I am unemployed and to this day cannot find a job. The last job I had was a seasonal job during the christmas holiday of the year of 2006. I have not had a job in over 3 and a half years and still cant find one. Every place I apply at whether it is in person or online I never get a reply or phone call from every single place I apply at. So one day I thought that maybe the reason why all of these places I apply at refuse to hire me is discrimination, because I remeber every online job application I filled out the asked me what race I was. So I finally made up my mind that from now on whenever I fill out a job application I will never answer a question where I am asked what race I am, I will either leave that question blank or check I would rather not reply. I was attending college but I am going to go to a broadcasting school this coming fall in August to learn how to work on the radio like be a disc jockey or commercial announcer or board operater and learn how to do many other tasks at a radio station. When I just last attended college I was studying computer information systems but I found out that I could get my experience quicker to be a radio dj in just 8 months compared to a 4 year degree aka bachelor degree which is required for people likew me studying computer information systems, so thats what really made me switch schools to Specs Howard School near Detroit, Michigan. The school I am going to is named Specs Howard School of Media Arts, which is located 16 miles from my house in Southfield, Michigan. Specs Howard School teaches people like me who want to work in the radio industry different skills we need to know to operate a radio station, and what is played over the air on the radio. So my question for all of you is if im asked what race I am on a online job application for a large chain of retail stores or fast food resturants or any where else, is that used against me to deny me a job because im black?

Not necessarily because you are black. This happens to whites as well. Hispanics have hiring priority right now. I've actually filled out applications that only asked if you were Hispanic or not. And of course I didn't hear back from them.

How can i get any kind of first job, more details inside?
I am 18 years old and never had a job because my mom never let me because of school (even though I was doing good) and my safety. I am African American and I have no job experience, there is no longer an afirmative action, and because of the economy it is not many jobs, I have filled out many apps online since gas prices are high and have limited transportation. What jobs besides army jobs should I look into? I live in Detroit, Michigan and right by Dearborn, Michigan.

Just an idea, but do you have a lawn mower and an edger ? You can do yard work and clean-up for people very cheap. You aren't working anyway. If people see that you have a good work ethic, they often network you in to something. When I ran construction crews, someone was always recommending some young person that was a good worker, willing to learn. Service jobs are those most sought after, because few want to do anything physical. But, a good plumber can make a bomb every year, and so can a good mechanic.

Do you know any good acting school in michigan? Specifically in the Detroit area? i'm 15 years old and my sister is 17 years old. i want more than anything to become an actress. i know it's a little too late for me to start an acting career but it's worth a try. i want to go to acting school while i still live in michigan but in a year or two im moving to california.. in san diego which is only an hour away from the l.a. where you can really get a good acting career there. but i need to start the sooner i can.

THere is a school in Michigan, in Northern Michigan. It is a boarding school. I know a guy that goes there, and he is an amazing actor. It is a school for I think the visual and performing arts. It's called Interlochen School Arts Academy. I hope this helps!

How long would it take me to earn a ph.D in dietetics and nutrition?
I'm a junior in high school right now. I plan on majoring in dietetics in order to become a dietitian and I will probably attend Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. After becoming RD certified, I am not sure whether or not I want to pursue a graduate degree. How long would it take to earn a master's or ph.D in dietetics? And will the extra education be worth it in the long run?

A Master's degree usually takes one or two years after a BS. There is no set time limit for a PhD. Very few people do it in less than four years after a bachelor's degree -- and some take seven or eight years. PhD students usually take three years of classes, take a written exam at the end of the second year & an oral exam at the end of the third. Then they start writing a dissertation. I started mine in my third year & took 18 months to finish it. I know people who took years. Once the dissertation is done, your committee has to sign off on it. This is usually done at the Dissertation Defense.

How many of you guys have had gang trouble when you were young (below age 21) or maybe still have gang trouble?
My family moved to the ghettos of Detroit, Michigan when I was 13, to attend high school. I did pretty terrible things with my gang like vandalize, steal, and even mugged somebody once. I spent some time in juvenile hall and finally was disciplined before I finished high school. Would anybody like to share experiences?

myself, i was never in any gang. but i had friends that got swept away and stuck in gang violence cycle. i lived in brooklyn, then chicago. now my family has a pretty nice place in a great neighborhood here in chicago. i can only feel gratitude i didn't make the same stupid decisions as others did.

I was in a gang.. sort of in my old town. We moved to a small/midsize town in Texas (always lived in Texas and proud to be Southern), and I got into a group of friends that eventually made a redneck gang. I'll admit we were pretty racist, we were like a mini- KKK, without the robes and complicated crap. The gang got pretty damn big, and my friends were the heads of the gang. I was one of the people working for the head, telling all the lower guys what to do, but we f---ed some stuff up big time. We'd smash up N-ggerfied cars and anytime we'd hear rap music we'd blast country and try to piss the black dude off enough to where he wanted to fight. Then we'd all jump him and steal a bunch of his crap. But I'm done with it now, I'm off in the military and they set me straight haha

One day i was walking home from school and 3 middle school kids ran up on me(i was decked out polo shirt/gold watch/my chain on/Jordan's) they started hassling me for to give up my sh** and surprise we started fighting so i ran away at first to the fence of a baseball field then i put my back 2 the fence and started swinging; it lasted for about a 1 min a 1min 1/2 but then one of the kids oldest brother came and told them to stop n that was that i got respect from everyone after that and those kids became my homeboys and the four of us later became baby gangsters a few months later. But i ended up dropping the gang life I don't know why till this day why i gave it up but i decided i was out an i asked to be jumped out and boom went through 2 sets of five minute beatings from my fellow members n now i'm hopefully on my way to dallas to go to art school this coming spring.

I heard there was NOT a need for elementary teachers in Michigan...does that go for Detroit also (it wouldn't seem like it to me anyway). I know things such as special ed. teachers are always in need but what about plain old elementary school teachers in Detroit? Is there a need.....

Lawyers and students plan to offer services from a recreational vehicle converted into a mobile law office. They plan to begin traveling throughout the state this summer. "It's sort of an `If we build it, they will come' approach," said David Koelsch, director of the law school's Immigration Law Clinic. Law school dean Mark Gordon said the mobile clinic is needed to serve increasing numbers of veterans returning from Iraq. "They served our country. They protected our freedoms," first-year student Anthony Mosko told the Detroit Free Press for a Saturday story. Since u want to make it out of the hood, why don't u start there. But I mean u can start out with a story, something bad or shocking u have seen or experienced, and then from there say how this school would be ur ticket out.

Well I applaud you on wanting to better yourself. I wish you the best luck in your travels. I have found that personal stories at the beginning really get an audience listening. I will just give an excerpt from an essay in a college english class which left me crying. "I haven't always had the best things in life. My father was arrested when I was six because he sold drugs to an uncover officer. He did this because he was trying to make money to put food on the table for his 2 children. My brother was shot and killed when I was sixteen because he ran from the police trying to serve a drug-related warrant. Those life lessons in my life taught me that drugs will never get you anywhere. Mostly though, I am grateful I was given up for adoption by my mother so I could be here in this room today. I am here to ensure that none of my future families will ever have to sell drugs to support their families." You could start off my saying that you haven't always had the best things and that Cass Technical High School would allow you to become a better person and contribute positively to society. Im trying to get in to Cass Technical High School in Michigan. In order to do so you must right a 1-2 page essay on why you would like to be in their school. I want to create a opening that will knock there socks off but i need a littler Help any ideas.Please help me there aren't many good schools in detroit im trying to make it out the hood.
